So heavy, so electric, so distorted… and so great!

On Monday, September 22nd, Nova Twins took over a sold-out Frannz Club Berlin. The energy in the room was buzzing, and the crowd’s authentic look made the fanbase instantly recognizable.

I didn’t know what to expect, but as soon as they kicked off with “Black Roses”, I got it straight away that they were different. It was heavy, electric, distorted, yet incredibly catchy. I remember thinking: “They’re an explosive mix of rock, metal, hip-hop, and punk… and I freakin’ love it!”

Formed in Southern London in 2014, Nova Twins consists of Amy Love (vocals, guitar) and Georgia South (bass, keyboards), who share a genre-fluid approach to music making. After having caught the attention of the 333 Wreckords Crew label, they dropped their breakthrough album “Who Are the Girls?” in 2020, followed by “Supernova” in 2022, which earned them a Mercury Prize nomination. Now signed with Marshall Records, on August 29, 2025, they released “Parasites & Butterflies”, their third album.

Well, I was mesmerised by the range of effects that Georgia mastered on her bass. Despite some technical problems with the guitar sound, Amy carried the whole show with pure charisma and one of the coolest stage presences I’ve ever seen. Honestly, we even forgot about the guitar. And all of that delivered by just two girls, impressive! Last, but not least, credits for the heavy metal drums go to Jake Woodward, who amplified it all.

The whole concert was an escalation of head-banging, groovy hits. We couldn’t get enough. I’m honestly glad I witnessed them in a small club, because next time I’m sure it won’t be so intimate. They’re bound to become huge.
