Inside the Berlin show that turned Velodrom into a euphoric celebration
The Lumineers live at Velodrom, 08 May 2025

Last Thursday, The Lumineers transformed Berlin’s Velodrom into something out of a dream. It wasn’t just a concert — it felt like a gathering of hearts, a communal exhale, and a celebration of everything tender and alive.

From the moment the first chords rang out, the crowd was with them — singing, swaying, shouting lyrics into the air like prayers. The setlist was a heartfelt journey, moving through beloved anthems and quieter moments that allowed emotion to settle in the room like dust in golden light.
Confetti burst like a celebration of life itself during “Sleep on the Floor,” catching the stage lights and falling over the audience in slow motion. When they launched into “Stubborn Love,” the entire venue pulsed with energy. It was impossible not to move, not to smile, not to feel. Thousands of voices rising as one — dancing, spinning, arms lifted.

There was something deeply human about the way The Lumineers held space on stage. Every word, every note, felt honest. There was no spectacle for spectacle’s sake — only connection, storytelling, and the kind of raw emotion that makes live music feel like a vital part of being alive.
By the end of the night, I couldn’t help but think: this show was like a kind of medicine — but one without side effects. Just warmth, joy, and that rare feeling that you’ve been part of something special.
A Personal Reflection
As I stood amidst the sea of swaying bodies, camera in hand, I felt an overwhelming sense of gratitude. Capturing these fleeting moments through my lens, I was reminded of why I fell in love with music in the first place. It’s not just about the melodies or the lyrics, but the connections forged between artist and audience, between strangers sharing a song, between the past and the present.
My passion for music has opened doors I never imagined, bringing me closer to the artists who’ve soundtracked my life. Being able to document such intimate, powerful performances is a privilege I cherish deeply. Nights like this reaffirm my belief in the transformative power of live music and the stories we tell through it.
