The garage rock all-female quartet from Madrid returns to the German capital
Hinds live at Frannz Club Berlin, 03 March 2025

Berlin’s Frannz Club was the place to be on Monday night as Hinds, the charismatic Madrid-based all-female quartet, took the stage. Fresh off the release of their fourth album, Viva Hinds, on September 6, 2024, the band has been riding a wave of success, with Rolling Stone ranking the record at #81 in its “100 Best Albums of 2024.” With a dedicated fanbase and a reputation for electrifying performances, expectations were high and Hinds delivered in full force.

The evening began with an atmospheric build-up. Dark blue smoke billowed across the stage, slowly revealing the band’s silhouettes who opened the concert with “Only a Shadow”, a cover of the Cleaners From Venus classic. Seamlessly, the band transitioned into “Hi, How Are You,” the first track from their latest album, setting the tone for an immersive and unpredictable night.
While the energy in the room was steadily building, it wasn’t until they launched into “Coffee,” the first single from Viva Hinds, that the audience truly came alive. The infectious rhythm and raw vocals ignited the crowd, transforming nodding heads into a sea of bouncing bodies. From that moment on, the connection between the band and the audience was undeniable, each song pulling them deeper into the frenzy.

What sets Hinds apart is their ability to seamlessly shift between hazy melodies and riotous bursts of energy and distorted guitars. Their stage presence is raw and uninhibited, making every moment feel spontaneous and electric. The chemistry between Carlotta Cosials and Ana Perrote, the band’s co-founders, is strong, as is the choice of the setlist that kept the audience glued to the stage.
As the show neared its climax, Hinds leaped off the stage, and plunged into the crowd, igniting a euphoric mosh pit where fans and band danced and sang together. The energy was infectious, the atmosphere charged with unfiltered joy.

Through their music and presence, Hinds continues to inspire and encourage female musicians to pursue their passion and carve their own paths in the rock music scene. They left an indelible mark on the Berlin crowd, but it was clear that their impact extended far beyond the stage. Hinds is making space for the next generation of female-led bands.
